Christmas Crossover Event!

I have resisted any crossover between series teams in the past, but I thought of an idea creating an early prequel link between Nick McCarty and John Harding. This Christmas short story in RJ Parker Publishing's newsletter crosses my 'Cold Blooded' and 'Hard Case' series characters from a point earlier than either series. I believe the fans of the 'Cold Blooded' and 'Hard Case' series will enjoy the free prequel to a crossover in present day times bringing the two teams together in 'Hard Case Book VII: Red Waves' I'm contemplating now for a possible May or June release. Let RJ and I know what you think of the prequel story. Merry Christmas!

Dhampir Update and Series Links

My new paranormal creation, tentatively titled Dhampir, will reach nearly 30K words by tonight. The action and humor are there with a bit of romance. Background story of how my main character, Jedidiah Israel Blake, came into being proceeded well without huge info dumps. He's going to be quite a character. His partner since childhood, Erin Constanza, will not be a cardboard cutout either, nor will his Mom and Grandparents. I wanted to update progress on the new novel along with providing links to the Hard Case, Cold Blooded, Rick Cantelli, P.I., and Demon series pages. Their first books in the series are at reduced prices for now. Cold Blooded V: Nightmare in Red has been garnering great reviews. The fans of the series are seeing everything I had hoped they would. Here are the series pages on Amazon.

Cold Blooded V: Nightmare in Red - Release Day!

Cold Blooded V: Nightmare in Red

I sent the files into RJ Parker for Cold Blooded V: Nightmare in Red. He did his usual superlative work finalizing categories, links, and marketing connections for Amazon release. They surprised us by listing Nick McCarty's newest pulp fiction adventure earlier than expected. If you're tired of reading the kid glove treatment Isis and the usual suspects of Islamist hordes get in reality, take a trip into Nick McCarty land where the world's number one murderous enemy meets with an assassin without peer, remorse, or mercy. Here's the link for the new Nick McCarty adventure:

CIA Director Paul Gilbrech sends his recruited Terminator to foil Isis plots targeting Middle America and Boston Harbor. Forced by circumstances at home to confront both a traitorous Senator and a world class assassin in league with Fontaine, Nick and his Unholy Trio comrades blaze a path of destruction through terrorists and enablers alike.

Cold Blooded V: Nightmare in Red Update

Cold Blooded V: Nightmare in Red continues on track for a late November release with 58K words done. A reader mentioned in an e-mail that I shouldn’t hurry my writing so as to publish the novel sooner. Believe me, that is not the case. I write about 2K words a day unless interrupted by life. I do so because the story in my head forces me to. Many days I have to enforce a stopping point because it is as many writers have pointed out, a good thing to stop in a place where the story can be embraced again with vigor. As many of you know, I do not write of drudgery. I write Pulp Fiction. My characters flood my head with interactions, plots, and humor. They are not a chore or a hurried money making scheme which will be missing pieces. That will not be the case. No one hurries my writer/assassin Nick McCarty - not even me.  :)

In 'Nightmare in Red' Nick tackles loose ends as the court allows serial killer Gerald Kensky loose because of principal witness Dan Lewis’s death. Kensky thinks after his release he will be untouchable. Nick and his Unholy Trio comrades think not. CIA Director Paul Gilbrech enlists his recruited Terminator to handle Isis plots involving Albanian and Middle Eastern terrorists working together. Their terror plots involve a military recruitment station and another strike at the heart of the American Republic’s beginning: Boston Harbor. The pairing of young Sonny Salvatore and Jean becomes a worry as it appears there is no way to stop either of them from following Nick’s black op past.

Here is the Cold Blooded Series link as Nightmare in Red will be joining them soon. :)

Rick Cantelli, P.I. Book IV: Shades of Death

Added Note: Shades of Death, my Rick Cantelli, P.I. thriller was released ahead of schedule by RJ Parker Publishing, Inc. Here's the link:  :)

Rick Cantelli, P.I. Shades of Death

I finished Rick Cantelli, P.I. Book IV: Shades of Death last night. It ended at nearly 97K words, and has many humorous and violent moments in it. RJ Parker Publishing, Inc will be releasing it at the end of this week if all goes well. The cover will be done by Katherine McCarthy at Aeternum Designs. Here’s the final blurb we decided on:

‘In Shades of Death, Rick and Lo try to protect a reality TV star better known for her selfie pictures on Twitter than her acting ability. She’s run afoul of a world class financier disrupting economies in countries, ordering deaths, and owning politicians everywhere. He thinks he’s above any law until he crosses Rick and Lo.

The clash between Cantelli-land and the Jorge Boros Empire draws out an old card from the deck in the person of Faruk Ezon, a world class assassin from the Madigan/Cantelli team’s old CIA days. With movie premiers, gangbangers, serial rapist problems, and a deadly threat from their Sana’a, Yemen embassy shootout, Rick and Lo are right back where they belong, locked and loaded.’

Editing of ‘Shades of Death’ is in full swing. Also my new novel which will be out at the end of November, Cold Blooded Book V: Nightmare in Red, starts today. It will contain another free bonus addition of Nick and Jean in the future. I have a couple of locations to research after the opening scenes which I’ll be doing at the end of September and middle of October involving Cincinnati, Boston, and Salem. After ‘Nightmare in Red’, I will be doing an all new character novel, which may or may not become a series, based on my short story, Dhampir. It will be released I hope in March. It will indeed be another Fall and Winter of fevered writing.  :)
