Terror Talk

Something is happening on the terrorist front. It’s as if our leaders came out of a trance to realize we could be facing much worse attacks than the Times Square incident. The same Attorney General, Eric Holder, trying to force a trillion dollar series of show trials for non-citizen enemy combatants now wants legislative altering of ‘Miranda’ rights even for US citizens.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton came out on ‘60 Minutes’ to make this startling statement about Pakistan, a much publicized supposed partner in the war on terror –
“I'm not saying that they're at the highest levels but I believe that somewhere in this government are people who know where Osama bin Laden and the Al Qaeda is, where Mullah Omar and the leadership of the Afghan Taliban is, and we expect more cooperation to help us bring to justice, capture or kill, those who attacked us on 9/11.”
Over the weekend terror czar John Brennan also tied Faisal Shahzad to the Pakistani Taliban. Lastly, in April President Obama talked of leaving even the polite term of Islamic Radicalism out of the terror lexicon. Since Shahzad tried to kill hundreds in New York, President Obama has even begun speaking of possible nuclear attacks using Islamic Radicals like Shahzad to launch them within our country. When the left wing of the country drops the PC spin speech and cranks up the terrorism talk after an incident like the Times Square near miss, the rest of us potential targets had better keep our eyes open. I have a bad feeling the government knows already as the author of this article points out that there are terrorist cells with more potent materials than manure already here and we’re playing catch up once again. Relying on luck and the stupidity of our enemy is not much of a national defense strategy. On the terrorism rumor front, Brad Thor of ‘Big Journalism’ on the Web is reporting Mullah Omar has been captured, which might be the reason behind this sudden wake up call.

something that has bugged me recently is the airing of the idea that the drone attacks in Pakistan may encourage more attacks on North America.
Hello? The Taliban launch attacks against our NATO troops, they kill Pakistani citizens by the hundreds if not thousands.
It's like a cop saying we can't go after the guy who robbed your house, it might encourage his friends to rob houses.

I'm with you. Those increased Predator attacks have decimated the Taliban. It's one of the bright spots in what the Obama Administration has done. If they'd lose the multi-culti suicide pact where we have to rely on PC names and luck to stay safe here, and seal the borders, I believe the economy would improve along with our safety.

I will never understand the defense strategy where we plead not to be attacked, take no offense when we are attacked, and waste billions of dollars trying to be liked by an enemy that hates our guts. We all learned young if a bully threatened you on the playground and you offered your lunch money to appease him or her you would still end up on the ground, but without your lunch money.

Yeah, it's a little worrisome when the peace folks start talking terrorism. Either there's going to be some terrorism, or they want us to stop thinking about how the oil spill is killing the Gulf and will soon kill the coast.

That is a good point, Charles, not that I blame them or anyone else for the blow up on the oil rig. I guess the most prominent blame recipient will be Halliburton because they worked on the rig just before the accident. I hope they can figure a way to cap the thing before what you fear happens.
